In Cub Scouts, a Den is a small group of Scouts of the same grade level. Dens meet regularly to work on fun activities called "adventures" that help them earn the badge of rank for their age group and learn new skills. Each Den is led by adult volunteers who guide the Scouts through age-appropriate adventures.
A Pack is the larger group that includes all the Dens. The Pack meets once a month for bigger events and activities, where all the Scouts come together to celebrate their achievements, play games, and have fun.
A District is a regional grouping of several Cub Scout Packs within a specific area. It helps to coordinate activities, training, and support for local Packs and their leaders. Districts often organize events like campouts, Pinewood Derbies, and service projects where Scouts from different Packs can meet and participate together.
A Council is a larger organization that oversees multiple Districts across a broader geographic region. Councils provide resources, training, and support to ensure that the Scouting program runs smoothly. They also organize larger events, such as summer camps and special outings, that involve Scouts from all the Districts within their area. Councils are responsible for making sure the Cub Scout program maintains consistent standards and quality across all Packs.
